Today is traditionally known as Easter Monday. Most Christian churches officially celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ yesterday. I am so grateful for His sacrifice and victory over sin and death in order that I may live an empowered and confident life. Even though I have known Jesus all my life, I continued to live in fear and slavery until two years ago. We attended a Liberty Conference and heard Andy Andrews speak for the first time. His words inspired me to "burn the boats" of so-called job security and become an entrepreneur along with Ed. Since I had never really done this before, I had to learn how to think differently.
You see, one of our little heard of basic needs is the need for time structuring. In order to thrive and feel productive as human beings, we must have some structuring of our activities. Otherwise, we just wander aimlessly in our thoughts and actions with no clear purpose. When we sell our time to an employer, this need is taken care of for us. We are told what time to report to work, what time to take a break, when to eat lunch and when we can go home. Of course, the job itself dictates how we spend our time working. As a nurse in a busy family practice clinic, I was quite good at multi-tasking as I feverishly evaluated and cared for the patients in our office, while answering telephone messages at every available moment. I went home at the end of 10 1/2 hours totally exhausted, only to do the same thing the next day.
The fact that I had little say-so in how to spend my working hours was bad enough. Worse than that was the paucity of vacation time I was allowed. Like so many people of the 21st century, I felt little control over my situation. After all, there are bills to pay and a retirement to plan for, right? How had I allowed myself to sell my time, which represents my life, for so little in return? (Basically a very small paycheck) Is there security in slavery? Yes, knowing there will be enough money to survive at a basic level. Is there freedom to dream, travel, visit, and be inspired by God and others? Not when the master is a boss with a narrow agenda. We were all created for a great purpose. And we only have a brief amount of time to realize and achieve that purpose.
My main purpose is to glorify my creator with my life, which isall that I think, say and do. As a part of this purpose, I seek to share this knowledge with all who have ears to hear. As a home based business entrepreneur, I market myself as a leader with an answer. Millions of people worldwide are eager to find a way to free themselves from slavery and live their true purpose. Having found that way myself, I am ready to share what I know. God showed me a better way. He opened my eyes to the freedom He wants me to have over my life and time. Money is a tool for making things happen so of course He wants us to have as much as we can be good stewards of in order to achieve our divine purpose.
The way I learned to make such a radical change in my life was to become a product of our 90 day personal development home study course. I continue to be a student of this course even after 3 years! I can't say that about any of the undergraduate or graduate courses I have taken! And then I attended the Liberty and Summit Conferences to take myself to even higher levels. It really is that simple and how I learned to have phenomenal success in this home business. I am closer to God, to my husband, and people in general than ever. What a powerful way to live! We all deserve this life.

Have Fun, Help Others, and Make a Lot of Money - No Worms Involved
In looking at business options, I have seen many ways that claim to be the path to earning a lot of money. However, I stumbled across a business in yesterday's newspaper that I found quite intriguing. It's the business of marketing earthworms. Now, if you think it's difficult to sell cookware, candles, vitamins or cosmetics, think about how you'd go about selling live, slippery, worms. There's no doubt this is a niche market. It turns out that the owner of this business actually started out as a home business entrepreneur who answered an ad for farming earthworms. The startup cost was $500 for a kit but the worms were small and the company never purchased the subsequent worm offspring as promised.
Not to be defeated, however, this worm farmer looked for other ways to make his business profitable. As a result, he no longer breeds and raises his own worms, but has become a broker for a large European worm farmer. It seems that worms grow bigger and juicier in Europe than they do in the United States. These millions of worms come packed in boxes and the broker weighs or counts the worms out into small cups which are sold to bait shops. How would you like to spend your working hours donning gloves and placing earthworms into cups? There were actually pictures of friends and relatives who assist the business owner in this endeavor.
As I was reading this amazing article, I started thinking about my own home business. What a contrast selling earthworms is to having a conversation with people. Of course I have to do some marketing to attract the people who are looking for my expertise and assistance. Then I simply have a conversation with these people to help us both discover what their goals and needs are. From there, it's simply a matter of using a proven system to further educate and answer questions. At this point, my clients make a decsision as to whether they would like to earn money doing what I do or not.
You are probably wondering what it is that I actually sell. Quite simply it's three different personal development products. There is a broad market for these products - after all, most of us are interested in becoming better human beings. The personal development business generated over 9 billion dollars last year. People are eager to learn better ways to think, live and communicate with others. People are also eager to make a very decent income, think multiple six figures potentially, without spending a lot of time away from their families. My purposes in life have been to help other people achieve health and happiness , to have time for gardening and enjoying my home on Lake Murray, and to have the resources to travel with my friends and family. I also enjoy feeling productive and donating my time and money to causes I am passionate about. Money opens a lot of doors, doesn't it?
With our Liberty League International home based business, I am better able than ever to realize these goals. I may buy a few earthworms and teach my grandson how to fish from our dock. Otherwise, I'll leave that business alone. I don't think many people are making a million dollars from earthworms. But personal development is a different story entirlely. Live On Purpose and Make a Difference
Our life and business rocks so much that I can't keep quiet about it any longer. As I sit here on this spring day looking out my window at Lake Murray and the budding trees, I realize that I envisioned this 10 years ago. We owned this property then but were living and working in Florida. If we were lucky, we were able to vacation here 3 times a year, never for more than a week at a time and sometimes only for 3 or 4 days. During one of those visits, I distinctly remember closing my eyes and picturing myself sitting here and working from a computer in my home. I had no idea exactly what kind of work I would be doing, but I knew it would provide a comfortable income and lifestyle. I also knew I would be fulfilling my purpose in life and making a difference to someone.
So here I am living that dream!! I am so blessed to have a husband who enjoys living this same dream lifestyle as I. After all, we have been married 31 years and are not carbon copies of each other. But in the things that matter most, marriage, family, church, and work, we agree totally in fidelity, integrity, giving of our time and resources, having fun, and being grateful to God for everything. Does a life like this just happen? Is it simply the result of luck? Or do we have the power to create any kind of life we desire?
Being a Christian of strong faith and a student of personal development - yes, the two compliment rather than contradict each other - I know without a doubt that our God-given free will, empowered by the Holy Spirit, gives us the ability to bring about anything we truly desire. I am certainly living proof of that. Seeing this happen in one area of my life encourages me to set my sights on even loftier goals. Every one of us was created for a distinct purpose and will live until that purpose is fulfilled. I probably will not know the entire scope of my purpose until my life is over. However, I do know the things in life I feel passionate about, so I know they are related to my purpose.
Working 10 hours a day for a corporation did not inspire me at all. Worse yet, it robbed me of creative energy and laid claim to one of my most precious resources, my TIME. Thank goodness I had envisioned a different lifestyle for myself and recognized the opportunity to achieve that lifestyle when it showed up. For me it was the business opportunity with Liberty League International. Not only could we now have the income to live according to our desires, our personal development products taught us how to think and believe in a new and powerful way. The point here is that even though you may want your life to look differently, you are going to have to take a leap of faith at some point to make that difference happen. One of my purposes on earth is to show others that change and success are possible for them. No one is stuck where they are unless they choose to be stuck.
I feel so passionate about the possibilities for my life and your life too. We all suffer when one of us chooses to "play it safe" rather than follow a dream. My favorite author, Andy Andrews, says that everything we do makes a difference. I want to make a difference with my life and honor my creator by achieving the purpose I was put here for. If you are feeling nudged to make a difference with your life, please take action on it. If you'd like to talk to me about that decision, I stand ready to listen and offer what knowledge and insight I have. This very well could be the opportunity you have been looking for to afford you new freedom. This could be the vehicle for you to live your life on purpose and make a difference for all of us.
